Bicycle Traffic Signal
Liberty Park is a popular destination for families, joggers, bicyclists, picnickers, and park-goers. In order to more safely connect the Liberty Wells neighborhood and 600 East bicycle route to the park, the City recently installed a new HAWK signal with a special bicycle signal incorporated into the design.
How to use the signal (as a bicyclist):
- Even if you are going straight or left, approach the intersection on the right side of the road.
- Push the bicycle button, on a post on the side of the road.
- Wait until the signal turns green and traffic has stopped. Use caution to be sure right-turning traffic sees you.
- Cross or turn left.
