May Is Bike Month!


MAY 5 - Open Streets:

OPEN STREETS IS BACK! And it's bigger than ever. The event will be in the streets in downtown Salt Lake City from 10am to 4pm. Visit the Open Streets website to get more information about the event, sign up for a free booth, or offer a couple hours to volunteer on the big day!

MAY 9 - National Bike to School Day:

A National effort to get out of the car, and onto a bike! Please visit Walk Bike to School for more info.

MAY 14 - 18 National Bike to Work Week:

As part of the League of American Bicyclist's national effort, please join us - and hundreds of other US cities - and bike to work this week. This event makes a difference, many people who particiapte in their Bike to Work Day/Week as first-time commuters become regular bike commuters, so invite a friend. Visit The League's website for more info and resources about Bike Month.

MAY 15 (That's a Tuesday this year!)- Bicycle Commuter Pit-Stops:

If you ride your bike to work on Tuesady May 15th (between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.) as part of National Bike to Work Week, make sure to pedal over to one of our bike commuter pit stops where you can enjoy free breakfast on your way to work! Please check our Facebook page for specific locations and updates.

MAY 17 - Mayor's Bike to Work Day:

Join Salt Lake City Mayor Biskupski and friends on a leisurely ride to work. This year's route will start at Wasatch Hollow at 1631 East 1700 South at 7:00 a.m. and wrap up at the City and County Building downtown near 9:00 a.m. Please visit GoldenSpokeUtah.com for details.

ONGOING during May - Photo exhibit: "Refurbished and/or Repurposed Yard Sale Bicycles":

Photo display by William Athey, at the Salt Lake City Main Public Library (210 East 400 South), third floor, near the reference desk. Bicycle books, SLC bicycle maps, and I Bike SLC stickers will join the photos.
